Assisted Living Facilities Association (ALFA) was started in 2018 with the intention of advocating assisted living facilities (ALFs) as a model of care for seniors that provides them with autonomy and dignity.
What is ALFA?
ALFA is an organisation that aims to recommend guidelines for future ALFs, and provide Accreditation and Consultation Services for parties interested to set up ALFs. Furthermore, ALFA hopes to establish Liaison Services between service providers and users of ALFs, and to provide Mediation Services for conflicts that should arise.
Why is ALFA being set up?
There is a growing demand for ALFs as an alternative to nursing homes in Singapore. A group of experts, medical professionals and academics, have come together to chart the way forward in this relatively unexplored territory in Singapore.
